Domodevo International Airport, located 42 km south of Moscow, is one of three major airports serving the city along with Sheremetyevo Airport and Vnukovo Airport. It is the second busiest airport in Russia. In 2003, the airport began an impressive expansion project in order to gain certification for wide-body aircraft operations. The airport is now capable of handling aircraft of all sizes. In total, the airport has two runways in total, which sit either side of the main apron and terminals. Domodevo International Airport has a large terminal building, formed of two separate concourses for domestic and international passengers. The terminal features all the usual amenities, including a VIP lounge, offering complimentary food and beverages and a range of additional services. A new terminal is currently under construction as part of the FIFA-18 program, which will become an extension to the existing T1. The airport is well connected to the city centre, with road and rail connections, along with direct bus connections. Taxis from the airport offer falt rates and Uber is also available. The Aeroexpress is the quickest method of transportation between the airport and Moscow city centre. Domdevo International Airport is located 46 km from Luzniki Stadium and 70 km from Otkrytiye Arena. Both can be reach by either road or train. Domodedovo became Russia's first ISO certified environmentally friendly airport in 2003.
